Black Forest Dream Dessert recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2-1/2 cups cold milk
2 packages (3.4 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
Chocolate curls, optional
Direction:
Mix sugar and flour together in a large bowl; cut butter into the
flour mixture until crumbly. Mix in walnuts and coconut. Press
into an unoiled 13x9-inch baking dish. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes
at 350 ° or until light brown. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
Beat cream cheese with confectioners ’ sugar in a small bowl
until smooth. Add 1 cup of whipped topping; fold gently. Spread
all over the crust. Add pie filling over the top; chill, covered.
Melt chocolate chips in a microwave, whisk until smooth. Stir
pudding mixes and milk for 2 minutes in a large bowl. Allow to
rest until soft-set, or for 2 minutes. Stir a small amount of
pudding into melted chocolate. Pour everything back into the
pudding, stirring continuously. Transfer mixture over cherry
filling. Refrigerate until firm, or for 2 hours.
Spread over the dessert with remaining whipped topping just
before serving. If desired, garnish on top with chocolate curls.
